Cynogenmod is been in the news from few days, basically everyone is trying to know about the same. Let us tell you about it.
The Cynogen is the name of the tech firm that is involved in the tech business, now the “cynogenmod” it is nothing but the firmware (software for pc & firmware for handheld devices) or ROM, software either way possible, it all means the same. It is downloadable on the various devices. The Cynogenmod is the community that builds the custom Rom/software for the device, other than the which the company gives pre-installed in their handset & it tries to enhance the feature of the android operating system & add the features which the Google or the manufacturer hasn't added.
Though the OS in your android device is basically android only but the Cynogenmod add some feature’s, & even faster the processing of the phones, the manufacturer build their own UI ( e;g Samsung uses touchwiz & htc use’s sense) that uses the more of the Ram & the processor & slow the processing of the phone, here the Cynogenmod works its custom rom handle the functioning of the UI, beside there are various feature’s that can be customized, such as the permission of the App, add 9*9 lock screen, charging indicator, lock screen quick launch, notification center, etc.
Almost everything in the cynogenmod is customisable besides the Rom build by the cynogen is basically based on the version of the android like different ROMs for the different version of the android & for the particular device only , the cynogenmod is involved in building the custom ROMs which the manufacturer can add in original version of the android ROM, means the oldest phones can even get the taste of the new android version & their feature’s, the cynogenmod keeps their previous version updating with new one & releasing their new version as per new version of android os.
For the smartphone brand like one plus, & micromax had done by installing the cynogenmod in their phone means even if you root you’re phone the phone is not out of warranty, the cynogenmod 7 is for 2.3 gingerbread, CM8 for 3.x honeycomb, CM 9 for 4.0 ice-creamsandwich, CM10 FOR 4.1 jellybean, CM10.1 for 4.2, CM10.2 for 4.3, CM11 for 4.4 kitkat, CM12 for 5.0 lollipop.
